Civilian Volunteers

Vision

“If you haven't been called up for reserve duty, come join the civilian effort and do your part.”

This is the message that tore through WhatsApp groups of Israel’s protest movements on October 7, as the day’s shocking events reverberated across Israel and the country prepared for war. Thousands of volunteers from activist groups like Brothers in Arms, the High-Tech Protest, Bonot Alternativa, as well as many other concerned civilians sprang into action, uniting within hours to form what would become the largest civilian aid effort in Israel’s history: Brothers and Sisters for Israel – Hamal Ezrachi (BSI)

In the initial stages of the conflict, BSI’s focus was on urgent needs—from delivering protective gear to soldiers, evacuating civilians under fire, to launching as hub for locating missing persons. As the crisis unfolded, we expanded efforts to support the wounded, displaced families, small businesses, and frontline communities. Initiatives in agriculture, industry, education, and emergency response impacted thousands across the country. Read about our emergency projects here.

What began as a spontaneous civilian response evolved into an independent grassroots organization. Built on the unwavering spirit of volunteerism and mutual responsibility, Brothers and Sisters for Israel remains committed to standing by those who need us—today, and for the future.

Continuing Our Mission and Commitment

Brothers and Sisters for Israel continues to strengthen Israeli society, guided by a commitment to mutual responsibility and the values expressed in Israel’s Declaration of Independence. Our work today focuses on:

  • Rebuilding Through Education and Community: Helping communities impacted by the war through education, empowering their participation in a thriving Israeli society.

  • Empowering the Next Generation: Nurturing young Israelis as active, committed citizens who step up to shape a value-driven society for all
